We welcome you to join us for a video conference discussion on Haitian film with film maker Richard Sénécal, and a showing of his film “The Violinist”. The movie depicts the heartwarming story of Stravensky Débrosse, a young man who leaves Haiti after the earthquake of 2010 for the Dominican Republic in search of a better life. There, he finds a teacher and a group of fellow musicians whose passion for music rises above the strife of the country he has left behind. It is a tender story that gives hope in the power of music and the beauty of human connection.

Donations will go to FOKAL, an organization which provides in part, a focus on Haitian literary and artistic productions through grants and the strengthening of local institutions
