In 1964, a small group of men attempted to challenge Haitian dictator François Duvalier in the Southast of Haiti. His government responded with a campaign of terror meant to discourage rebellion. Join us for a viewing and a conversation with the Haitian filmmaker and journalist Rachele Magloire in her film uncovering the traces of a 1964 massacre by the Duvaliver regime. More than 50 years later, local peasants recount their experiences for the first time in a film exploring the memory of fear, resistance, and the costs of standing up.
