Join us for a special viewing of the CRITICALLY acclaimed haitian film
We welcome you to join us for a special viewing of “Freda,” a film about a family living in Haiti, where the lives of everyday citizens are torn between their love of home and their quest for safety. The film captures the lives of a mother and her three grown children navigating life in Port-au-Prince, torn apart by violence and corruption. The film documents the siblings search for their place amid the country’s fight for justice, spliced with live footage of marches that rocked the capital during the turmoils of 2020. The film captures the beauty of the culture and dichotomies that make Haiti at once beautiful and tragic, causing those caught in its grips to contend with the painful choice of whether to stay or or whether to go.
